| Berlin

The 65th Berlin International Film Festival will award director Wim Wenders an Honorary Golden Bear for his lifetime achievement. The festival better known as Berlinale today also announced a big Homage to the work of the director.

"In dedicating the Homage to Wim Wenders, we honour one of the most noted contemporary auteurs", Berlinale director Dieter Kosslick says. His cross-genre work as a filmmaker, photographer and author has shaped cinema and continues to inspire other filmmakers, he adds.

Among his best known works are feature films like Paris, Texas (1984), Wings of Desire (1987), The Million Dollar Hotel (2000) and the documentary Buena Vista Social Club (1999). Ten films from Wim Wenders's repertoire will be shown as part of the Homage at Berlinale in February 2015.
