Avant-garde stars celebrate 50 years of Nonesuch

Brooklyn Academy of Music presents concert series in honor of legendary record label

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Nonesuch Records, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) presents a wide-ranging series of concerts, September 9-28. The program includes works and performances of iconic artists like Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Brad Mehldau, Alarm Will Sound performing works by John Adams, Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson and Robert Plant.

The Nonesuch celebration brings several meetings and collaborations of the superstars of avant-garde and contemporary music. Steve Reich and Musicians join Philip Glass and his Ensemble for three performances. Alarm Will Sound also performs two concerts as part of the series, including Radio Rewrite. Musician and multimedia artist Laurie Anderson and the Kronos Quartet will perform Landfall. Anderson's piece is their first-ever collaboration.
